Symposium on Building Confucius Schools Overseas held

On the afternoon of January 12th, the Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies held a symposium,bothonline and in person, on Building Confucius Schools Overseas.
At the symposium, representatives of each school introduced theprogress of their work and the plan for2023. Representatives from the Confucius Institute of Panama, the Confucius Institute of Korea and the Confucius Institute of Indonesia shared their experiences.
Four “overseas Confucius cultural centers”and 26 “overseas Confucius Schools”have been built in 16 countries and regions. Overseas schools are encouragedto carry out a variety of traditional cultural activities during the Spring Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival and other traditional cultural festivals, such as learning calligraphy, reading classics, celebrating rites and music, offering sacrifices to sages, holding celebrations, advocating folk customs, and passing on family traditions, so as to disseminate theChinese culture in a deeper, more effective and sustainable way.
In the coming year, overseas Confucius schools will continue to improvetheir teaching quality. Whileensuring the quality, more Confucius schools will be builttopromote awareness ofthefine Chinese traditional culture overseas. In addition, cultural exchange activities are plannedto ensure the soundand sustainable development of overseas Confucius schools.
