“Legacy of Millenium: Beauty of Dunhuang Architecture” exhibition launched online

  Co-sponsored by China Soong Ching Ling Foundation, Dunhuang Academy and Taiwan Shen Chunchi Foundation for Culture and Education, the online exhibition “Legacy of Millenium: Beauty of Dunhuang Architecture” was recently launched on both sides of the Taiwan Straits.

  Since 2016, China Soong Ching Ling Foundation, Dunhuang Academy and Taiwan Shen Chunchi Foundation for Culture and Education have jointly held the “Dunhuang Culture and Art Exhibition” tour in more than 10 universities and art galleries in Taiwan, which has been widely praised by young students and audience from all walks of life. Due to COVID-19 and other factors, the exhibition was moved online from 2021.

  As planned, the exhibition is pided into nine sections, displaying more than 100 exhibits and themed films. The audience can visit the “Legacy of Millennium” exhibition hall and Cave 285 and 320 of Mogao Grottoes via virtual reality and appreciate the displayed pictorial records of exhibits and 3D architectural models online.

  Through the online exhibition, people on both sides of the Taiwan Straits can deepen their understanding of Dunhuang culture, immerse themselves in the significance and inclusiveness of the fine traditional Chinese culture, broaden their horizons and enlighten themselves. As viewers of this exhibition, they are also doing their part to appreciate and carry forward the fine traditional Chinese culture.

  The online exhibition runs from December 30, 2022 to July 15, 2023.
