The World Conferenceof Classicswill take place in Beijing from November 6 to 8, organized by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Ministry of Education of China, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China, the Ministry of Culture of Greece, and the Academy of Athens.

The theme of this conference is “Classical Civilization and Modern World”,aiming to trace the origins of human thought, summarize the wisdom in human history, and explore the traditions of human civilization from the perspective of classical civilization research. It seeks to strengthen the theoretical foundation for cultural exchanges and mutual learning, provide wisdom and insights for solving problems in modern world, inject intellectual momentum into human development and progress, practice the Global Civilization Initiative, and promote the building of a community with a shared future for humanity.

It is reported that over 400 guests from China and abroad are invited for the conference with approximately 200 foreign guests, coming from about 30 countries including South Korea, Japan, Egypt, Germany, Russia, France, Greece, Italy, the United Kingdom, Canada, the United States, Argentina and Australia.

In addition to the main agenda, the conference will also feature a variety of accompanying activities. Before the conference, from November 3 to 5, foreign guests will be organized to visit Shandong, Henan and Sichuan provinces for “ExploringChina” activity to experience the open and inclusive characteristics of Chinese civilization and immerse themselves in the creative transformation and innovative development of outstanding traditional Chinese culture.
